It’s a fact: every action has a reaction. As a global citizen, I know my actions and inaction’s have huge consequences for the world around me. I hope this space allows us to learn about some of the ways that we are connected and inspires us to change how we respond to this reality.
There are so many different things that occupy our time. It is almost impossible to stay on top of our daily activities, with work, groceries, laundry, special occasions, kids to attend to, significant others to be with, and the ever present nagging that we should exercise.
With all these things filling our plates, it is virtually impossible to keep abreast of current world issues. In 2004, I had begun to speak at high schools and community groups about health issues, art-activism, conflict, and about other topics related to Africa. I loved sharing with people but I realized that I often failed to communicate the things that I found most important with my friends.
Extro (Extroverted Activism) is a space for me to share some of the information that I come across and provide relevant resources so you can learn with me. Intro (Introspective Thoughts) covers more personal reflections, professional musings, photos and events.
I hope this site will inspire you to think more about the intertwined elements of global community. There are so many opportunities to engage that are rewarding to you and beneficial to our world.
Find ways to instigate change on issues that are important to you and encourage others to join you!
