On July 21st 2004, Congress declared the atrocities in Darfur to be Genocide. A year later these atrocities continue, and we want to say to our governments and our communities that something has to be done.
On July 21st 2005, people are gathering in: San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, New York, Washington DC, Monterey (Mexico), Jerusalem (Israel), Lagos (Nigeria), Dijon (France), Nairobi (Kenya) to participate in a candle light vigil in remembrance of those who have died in systematic genocides around the world.
The vigil, which took place in front of the Federal Building in Los Angeles brought together people from different ethnic communities in Los Angeles who have been effected by genocides, as well as concerned members of the community, student groups, and members of various religious organizations.
