about the site author

Fay currently works for the government, helping to bring light to international human rights issues. Fay initially moved to Washington, DC in 2005 to work with Human Rights Watch on issues affecting Africa.

Since immigrated to the United States from South Africa in the mid-eighties, Fay’s passion for travel and culture has taken her to over 22 countries. Prior to moving to the US capital, Fay studied and worked in California. While there she began her own business as a Professional Organizer and worked with both for-profit and non-profit companies on strategic marketing and training business executives for cross-cultural business ventures. Her personal volunteer work utilizes skills from the market places, as she works with social justice groups to bring awareness to issues of poverty and human rights abuses.

Fay received a degree in International Development Studies with a focus on Africa and the Middle East from the University of California Los Angeles. While living in Los Angeles, Fay worked with groups such as Students for Arts Based AIDS Education (SABAE), StopGenocideNow.com, and the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking. She worked as the community education liaison for these groups speaking at high schools, religious gatherings and teachers' training's.
